"SOMEONE CALL FOR HELP ...."
The Australian outdoors is a wonderful place to spend time. Unfortunately the unexpected can & does occur. When this happens it is often in remote or inaccessible areas, under all manner of conditions. In these situations, even the most minor of injuries presents a significant problem, let alone significant injury or illness.

To ensure that all the people of NSW have access to timely medical care, the Ambulance Service of NSW has a state-of-the-art helicopter service staffed by medical personnel & Intensive Care Paramedics, who are members of the 'Special Casualty Access Team'. These Paramedics are trained in a range of outdoor skills to access patients in any environment & operate unsupported in all weather conditions for up to 48hrs.

Whether it's a lost bushwalking group in the Blue Mountains, a caver in Bungonia, a fisherman washed off rocks or people rafting on the North Coast, the Ambulance Rescue Helicopter service is structured to provide a rapid medical response to any part of NSW, 24/7.

Cameron will talk about a range of issues relating to the outdoor emergencies that we all hope our organisations will not be involved in.
